Dusan Dzamonja (1928-2009) was a Yugoslav sculptor and a member of Serbian Academy of Science and Arts. His artwork has left a permanent mark in the monumental architecture Yugoslavia. Dzamonja was born in Strumica, Macedonia. In 1945 he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb (professors Vanja Radaush, Fran Krshinic). In 1951, he got Master’s degree in sculpture with Professor Anthony Augustinic. From 1953 he started working in his own studio. Since 1970 he had a workshop at Vrsar (Istria) and in 1987 he moved to Brussels, Belgium. Since then he lived in Brussels, Vrsar and Zagreb.
